If your home uses the mCare integration, you can enable data sharing so that care notes from Lifestyle activities in ResHub are sent to mCare.

This setup requires configuration in both mCare and StaffHub.

Before you begin

Ensure you have the correct access:

Admin access in mCare → Required to retrieve the API key
Admin access in StaffHub → Required to configure the integration

💡 If you do not have admin access, ask your manager or system administrator to complete these steps.

Step 1: Retrieve your API key from mCare

To connect ResHub to mCare, you need your facility’s Internal API Key.

In mCare Monitor:

Go to Admin (cog icon next to the Links tab)

Click Organisation Details

Select your facility:

  • Choose your care home / community from the list

  • The selected row will be highlighted

  • Ensure ResHub integration is available for this home

Open the integration settings:

Within the facility settings:

Click the cog next to Generic API

Locate your API key:

You will see:

  • Internal API Key → Unique to your facility

  • Status toggle → Must be turned ON

  • Active Services → ResHub should be listed

If ResHub is not listed:

Expand Active Services
Enable (toggle ON) ResHub

Copy your API key:

Copy the Internal API Key for use in StaffHub

Step 2: Add the API key in StaffHub

Now connect the integration in ResHub.

In StaffHub:

Go to Settings
Click Facility

Scroll down to Integrations

Add the API key:

Paste the Internal API Key into the relevant field

Scroll back up
Click Save

Expected result

Once configured correctly:

✅ ResHub and mCare will be connected
✅ Lifestyle activity data can be shared with mCare
✅ Care notes generated in ResHub can appear in mCare

Troubleshooting

If the integration is not working as expected:

  • Ensure the API key is correct and fully copied

  • Confirm the status toggle is enabled in mCare

  • Check that ResHub is enabled under Active Services

  • Verify changes were saved in StaffHub

If issues persist, refer to:

  • Troubleshooting the mCare integration

  • Contacting support and submitting feature requests

Best practice

  • Always treat mCare as the source of truth for care data

  • Recheck integration settings after updates or configuration changes

  • Keep API keys secure and only accessible to authorised users
