The Nutrition Page provides a clear, consolidated view of nutritional needs, risks, and preferences for service users. It brings together key dietary information, texture and fluid modifications, allergies, and assessment status to support safe nutrition management, and care planning.

Nutrition Page - Deep Dive

The Nutrition Page displays nutritional information and requirements based on the data recorded for each service user. When first opened, the page presents a summary overview, followed by detailed nutritional records for individuals.

Key capabilities include:

  • Viewing an overview of nutritional needs and dietary complexity across the service

  • Reviewing individual service user nutrition details, including diet, allergies, and preferences

  • Identifying food and drink texture modifications and required support

  • Accessing nutritional risk indicators and assessment tools for follow-up

The Nutrition Page displays a summary view at the top, followed by a detailed table of individual service users and their nutritional information.

It is designed to provide both:

  • A high-level overview for care teams

  • Detailed, resident-level information for care teams

Summary Section

The Summary section provides an aggregated overview of nutritional information across the service.

This includes:

  • Meal Management – how meals are supported (e.g. independent, care home, other means)

  • Allergies and Preferences – number of recorded allergies and special requests

  • Modifications – food and drink texture levels currently in use

What this shows

A snapshot of nutritional complexity and requirements across the service.

Use this to:

  • Understand overall nutritional needs at a glance

  • Identify trends or areas requiring attention

  • Support reporting and inspections

Food and Drink Modifications

Screen 4: Food Modification Level

Food and drink modifications are displayed using recognised texture levels.

Food texture levels include:

  • Level 7 – Regular

  • Level 7a – Easy to chew

  • Level 6 – Soft & bite-sized

  • Level 5 – Minced & moist

  • Level 4 – Pureed

  • Level 3 – Liquidised

Drink texture levels include:

  • Level 0 – Thin

  • Level 1 – Slightly thick

  • Level 2 – Mildly thick

  • Level 3 – Moderately thick

  • Level 4 – Extremely thick

Hovering over the information icons provides clear explanations of each level.

Use this to:

  • Ensure appropriate food and drink textures are provided

  • Reduce choking and aspiration risks

  • Support compliance with clinical guidance

Below the summary, the table lists individual service users and their nutrition-related details.

Columns include:

  • Service User – name and profile

  • Details – nutritional risk indicators (e.g. BMI, MUST score)

  • Diet – diet type and texture requirements

  • Allergies – recorded food or medication allergies

  • Intolerances – known intolerances

  • Special Requests – cultural, religious, or personal preferences

  • Dining Preferences – preferred dining arrangements

  • Required Utensils – equipment needed to support eating

  • Likes – Meals & Drinks the Service User Enjoys

  • Dislikes – Foods and Drinks the Service User Does Not Like

  • Alcohol – Alcohol Consumption

  • Additional Information – Other Relevant Nutritional Information

Risk and Warning Indicators

Certain nutritional statuses are highlighted to indicate risk or warning, such as:

  • High or increasing nutritional risk scores

  • Conditions requiring close dietary monitoring (e.g. diabetes)

  • Missing or outdated nutritional assessments

What this shows

Clear indicators that additional review or action may be required.

Use this to:

  • Identify service users requiring follow-up

  • Support proactive risk management

  • Prioritise nutritional reviews

Assessment Tools Access

Where available, a Go to Assessment Tool link is displayed for each service user.

This provides direct access to nutritional assessments and related records.

Use this to:

  • Review or update nutritional assessments

  • Ensure assessments are current and complete

  • Support care planning and documentation

Unavailable Data

If nutritional information is missing or unavailable, this is clearly indicated within the table.

What this shows

That nutritional data has not been recorded or is incomplete.

Use this to:

  • Identify gaps in nutritional records

  • Prompt completion of assessments

What this shows

Action buttons that enable users to copy the report data, print the current view, and control page navigation while viewing nutritional information.

  • Copy nutrition data using the Copy API link for sharing or integration

  • Print the Nutrition Page for offline review or records

  • Quickly navigate the page using available navigation controls
