We’re introducing an additional Confirm password field when changing a worker’s password in mCare. This improvement helps ensure passwords are set correctly the first time and reduces the risk of login issues caused by typing errors.
This enhancement was requested by Support following cases where passwords were entered incorrectly during resets.
What’s changing
When an authorised user selects Change password on a worker record, they will now be required to enter the password twice:
New password
Confirm password
The system will validate that both entries match before allowing the password change to be saved.
Once entered and confirmed the new password, select ‘save in top right corner of the screen.
When saving the change, the administrator will be asked to confirm the action by entering their own password.
When the worker next logs in, the system will prompt them to enter their current password and set their new password again to complete the process.
What’s not changing
No changes to user roles, permissions, or access rights
The password policy and security rules remain the same
The worker login process is unchanged
This update only affects the password reset workflow for administrators.
Why this matters
Previously, passwords could be set with a single entry field, which led to occasional typing errors and mismatched credentials being communicated to workers.
Adding a confirmation step aligns mCare with standard security and usability practices and helps reduce password-related support incidents.
