The best way to show that a resident is in hospital is to suspend their record and put the reason that they are in hospital. You can also add an care action under the Medical section.
This will suspend all 'must-do' actions for them.
To run a report to show who is or was in hospital, go to Reports>Care Notes and then filter on the ADL of Medical and the action of Hospital.
