As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the security of the product, there have been some additional staff permissions added to the access rights section of a staff file. The new permissions allow users access to mCare without needing to allow them to see Service User details.

(NEW) 'View limited staff details' will give users the following permissions:

  • Access Monitor without need for View Service User

  • Can drill into the staff record, but not edit details or change their photo

  • Cannot view or access staff assessments / forms

  • Can view the “Activities & Interests” form and run matches, but not change the details

  • Can run the Staff Handover Read report

(NEW) 'View full staff details & change staff assessments' will give users the same permissions as 'View limited staff details' and the following permissions:

  • Can access Monitor without need for View Service User

  • Can view the staff record

  • Can view the details within 'Edit details'

  • Cannot update any staff details, the fields will be read only

  • Can send messages to staff (single staff and via the community page)

  • Can view staff assessments and forms, create new and update assessments/forms

  • Can run all staff reports

(NEW) 'Manage user passwords' will allow the user to change the passwords of users. The 'Manage user passwords' permission will only work in conjunction with ‘View full staff details & change staff assessments’.

(RENAMED) 'Manage staff and user details (including staff reports and passwords)' has been renamed from 'Manage staff and run staff reports'. This gives users the same permissions as 'View full staff details & change staff assessments' plus the following permissions:

  • Can view and update assessments for Staff records

  • Can edit staff details and photos

  • Create and remove User Accounts

  • Update passwords

If a user currently has 'Manage staff and run staff reports' checked for their user, 'Manage staff and user details (including staff reports)' will continue to be checked by default upon release. Users with this permission will see no difference to their access.
