Unable to Open Web Applications on Handset

Written by Colin Horley

A web application is a browser URL that has been added onto your handheld device/s but appears on the front screen like a normal application. It allows for an quick way to access a certain web page if the provider does not have an app on the Google Play Store.

Please be aware that these instructions are for devices which are currently locked down on our MDM (Mobile Device Management) system.

For devices which are on a 3rd party management system, you will need to contact them directly to assist you with the issues you are having.

Due to our Mobile Device Management system, access to the internet browser is blocked by default for security purposes. If a member of the Support team has previously installed a Web Application on the device and this is unable to be opened you will need to contact the Support team directly.

Raise a live chat within the 'Support' widget within your current platform.

A member of the Support team will add the 'Google Chrome' application to the device. You will then need to go onto each device and open up your Web Application. Once this has been loaded correctly, the Support team member will remove Google Chrome from the devices.

Google Chrome is only required as a one time install for new Web Applications so that it can be opened without issue in the future.
